Constantine Village Council members last week tabled a request by Tranquility Fields of Ann Arbor to place a cannabis-consumption establishment/event center and a recreational retail provisioning facility downtown.
The request was for a location at 230 N. Washington St. Company representatives said the business would have 20 employees.
The concept of a consumption lounge did not exist when a recreational marijuana law was passed by the state or when the village adopted their ordinance allowing the marijuana businesses.
Village attorney Howard Bush said the council could consider both applications, since they go hand in hand.
