Dr. Robert Vernon “Bob” Hill, age 92, of Three Rivers, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022 at Beacon Health – Three Rivers.
He was born April 21, 1930 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
He graduated from Maine Township High School, Parkridge, IL in 1948. Bob then attended the University of Illinois, graduating in 1956. He then attended University of Illinois Medical School graduating with the Class of 1958, receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree.
Upon completing his residency, he joined the Three Rivers Medical Clinic, a primary care family practice. Later he started his own private practice in his hometown of Three Rivers. Next he became a partner in South Western Emergency Services, staffing the emergency room at Bronson Hospital and hospitals in Battle Creek. His final and favorite job was medical director for General Motors Hydramatic in Three Rivers, retiring in 1992.
Bob was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship from the Three Rivers Rotary Club.
Bob married Sylvia Davidson on April 27, 1973 in Midland. Many beautiful memories were made during their 49 years together.
Bob’s interests included skiing, traveling, boating on Fisher Lake, and dinner out with family and friends. His passions were golfing and home construction. Bob wintered in Jupiter, FL with Sylvia but was always ready to come home to Fisher Lake for the summer in the home he helped build.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Sylvia; five children, Robin Hill Kindle Morrow, Karen Hill, Jeff Hill, James (Tammy) Davidson, and Todd Davidson; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeremy) Holmstrom, Kristina (Max) Chamovitz, Allison, Tyler, Kaytlynn, Kylee, Hannah, Noah, Emily, and Eamonn; three great-grandchildren, twins Asher and Caleb, and Colt.
He was preceded in death by his daughters Leslie Hatcher and Kim Miller, and son Craig Hill.
The family would like to thank Beacon Health Three Rivers for their help and kindness during his stay.
Robert “Doc Bob” was known to his colleagues, residents, nurses, and patients as a compassionate, caring physician.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
