Rosado wins District 4 race

The race for St. Joseph County Commission’s District 4 featured two challengers seeking to replace Dan Czajkowski, who is stepping down after a six-year run.

White Pigeon resident Luis Rosado had a narrow victory over Constantine Township’s David Hayslip. Unofficial results show Rosado secured about 53 percent of the votes to Hayslip’s 47 percent.

Rosado said he vows to commit 100 percent effort to the two-year term. A Chicago native, Rosado said he has learned a lot by attending the monthly county commission meetings. He said he is aware the job will take a lot of work and require a lot of time that the general public doesn’t generally know about.

Starting in 2023, District 4 will be comprised of Constantine, Mottville and White Pigeon townships.
