Sturgis man sentenced in child pornography case

A Sturgis man was sentenced to prison on charges of child pornography.

Adalberto Garcia, 24, was convicted by a St. Joseph County jury of using a computer to commit a crime and two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material.

He was sentenced by St. Joseph County Circuit Court Judge Paul Stutesman to a range of three to 22 1/2 years in prison.

Stutesman noted Garcia was on probation for fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct when he downloaded photos on the Snapchat app.
