Susan Hoffelder, 75

Susan A. Hoffelder, child of God, age 75, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 in Niles. Born in Sturgis, Susan was the daughter of Eugene and Pauline Hoffelder. She graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1965. She was an accomplished attorney who achieved her law degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1987 and went on to have a successful career in real estate as well. Prior to law school, Susan owned and operated the Dairy Barn restaurant in White Pigeon.

She was a loyal member of Hope Community Church in Niles, along with being an active community member through the Niles Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. Susan especially loved to travel, play her guitar, and attend concerts in addition to actively participating in mission trips through her local church. She will be remembered for her kindness, encouraging nature and uplifting approach to life. Most of all, she treasured her five devoted children.

Susan is survived by her five children, Ann Winneroski, Tammy Pickrell, Marcy O’Rourke and Ryan and Adam Horn. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The viewing will be held on Monday, August 29th from 4 to 8PM and the funeral will be on Tuesday, August 30th at 11AM at Farrand Funeral Home, 300 N Kalamazoo St. White Pigeon. The grave site service will follow the funeral and be held at the White Pigeon Cemetery.

All those who knew Susan and were lucky enough to share a slice of life with her are encouraged to visit her services and share their respects with her family.
