Dennis Brueck, 55

Dennis Glen Brueck, age 55, of Mendon, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. He was born in Sturgis on June 7, 1967 the son of Donald and Sharlene (Batten) Brueck and was a lifetime resident of Mendon. After graduating from Mendon High School with the class of 1985, he went to work in the auto parts business. He worked briefly at the NAPA store in Athens, Ridge Auto Parts in Three Rivers, and became the owner of the Mendon NAPA Store in 1992 until its closing in 2020.

Denny was a sports fan. He was a supporter of the Mendon Sports Boosters and always supported the Mendon Hornets. He also enjoyed college sports, and was an avid fan of the Michigan State Spartans. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and attending tractor shows. He looked forward to spending time “Up North” at the cabin in Luther. He loved spending time with family, watching his grandchildren, and coaching their T-Ball games.

Denny was married to Katherine Morgan at Mackinac Island on June 7, 1997. Kathy survives along with sons, Robert (Elise) Kretschman and Kaleb (Brandy) McCarroll; three grandchildren, Connor, Merrick, and Grayson; his mother, Sharlene Brueck; brother, Doug (Kathy) Brueck; sisters, Cathy Jo (Ron) Coleman and Julie (Steve) Kline; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Brueck and infant sister, Carol Lynn.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 pm Friday, Sept. 9, 2022 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorial services will be at 11 am Saturday, Sep. 10, 2022 at Crossroads Missionary Church with Rev. Josh Brueck and Rev. Alex Brovont officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Mendon Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial contributions be directed to either the Mendon Athletic Boosters, or to the Mendon Community Schools Foundation.
