Kalamazoo airport will host temp precheck application office

Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport announced it will host another temporary TSA PreCheck Application Center.

Residents of Southwest Michigan will be able to enroll in the PreCheck program at the airport Sept. 26-30.

The program enables enrolled travelers to experience an expedited security-screening process. The “pop-up” office will be located in the airport terminal.

Airport officials said the application process allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to enroll directly in TSA PreCheck – which allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on.

More than 200 airports participate in TSA PreCheck nationwide and more than 70 airlines participate in the program.
