Maritza Montoya Delgado, age 48, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday morning, September 1, 2022 at her home.
She was born December 20, 1973 in Santa Cruz, Michoacán, Mexico daughter of the late Jose Abel and Maria Celia (Aguilar) Delgado.
Maritza resided in the United States for over 30 years coming from Mexico.
On January 29, 1994 she married Efrain Montoya in LaGrange.
She and Efrain owned and operated El Sembrador Restaurant in Sturgis.
She was an active member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis.
Maritza loved going to church and anytime she was surrounded by her entire family.
She is survived by her loving husband: Efrain; three daughters: Rubi Montoya, Beni Montoya and Gisell Montoya; two sons: Efrain Montoya, Jr. and Abel Montoya; two sisters: Oralia and Celina; five brothers: Rene, Abel Noe, Omar, Edgar and Eduardo and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday and 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis. A vigil service will begin at 7:00 P.M. Monday at the church. The Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Maritza Montoya Delgado will begin at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church. The Rev. Father Raul Gomez and the Rev. Father Andrew Raczkowski celebrants. A graveside committal will follow the Mass at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
