Ramah Emily Krontz, age 95, of Burr Oak, passed away Wednesday evening, October 12, 2022 at her home.
She was born May 17, 1927 in LaGrange, daughter of the late Wellington and Lulu (Smith) Bradley.
Ramah was a longtime resident of Burr Oak and had also lived in Sturgis where she was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1945.
On July 9, 1947 she married Robert LeRoy Krontz in Sturgis. He preceded her in death August 2, 1996.
She retired from Bronson Plastics in Bronson and had also worked at the Transogram Company, Walgreens Drug Store both in Sturgis and was a homemaker. Ramah found great joy in the 12 years she was very involved in foster care. Ramah was nominated and received the first Laura D. Corrigan Foster Family Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by the Michigan Supreme Court.
She enjoyed puzzles, reading, and her doll collection. She and Robert traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada, traveling to all 50 states with the exception of Hawaii. For three years they were fulltime recreational vehicle travelers. Ramah’s greatest joy was time spent with her family.
She is survived by three daughters: Barbara Harris and Candy (Dave) Harris both of Burr Oak and Jane Davis of Bronson; two sons: Robert Ray (Kathy) Krontz of Bronson and Pete (Theresa) Krontz of Delton; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother: Theodore Bradley of Las Vegas, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son: Timothy Krontz; granddaughter: Ramah Elaine Krontz; sons-in-law: Harold “Punk” Harris and Mark Davis; three sisters: Betty J. Fry, Margaret Asmus and Dorotha Billman; three brothers: James, Thomas and Paul Bradley.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday, Oct. 18th at the Sturgis Evangelical Church, 28201 Fawn River Rd. in Sturgis where funeral service celebrating the life of Ramah Emily Krontz will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00 PM. The Rev. Rodger Moyer will officiate. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow the service. Private burial of the remains will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
