Rev. Marion Baker, 89

Rev. Marion J. Baker, age 89, of Mendon, died Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Promedica Heartland Healthcare in Three Rivers. He was born in Alvordton, Ohio on May 17, 1933 the son of the late Otto “Jack” Baker and Pauline Ella (Ray) Baker. He was married to Corene (Cox) Baker on July 6, 1950 in Wyandotte. Marion was the pastor of churches in Taylor, Flat Rock, and Wyandotte for the Church of God of Prophesy for 30 years. He also worked at the McLeod Steel Mill in Trenton, and was an auxiliary police officer for the city of Taylor. Upon retirement, he moved to Mendon in 1998. While living in Mendon he attended the Vicksburg Assembly of God, enjoyed hunting, and was a member of the NRA.

Marion is survived by five children, Diana Barnes of Sturgis, Daniel (Pam) Baker of Taylor, Donald Baker of Sturgis, Dennis Baker of Mendon, and Dale (Debbie) Baker of Mendon; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Merlin (Mary Lou) Baker of Bryan, Ohio; a sister, Nancy Fish of Brooklyn, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded n death by his parents; his wife, Corene; and a son, David.
