Willis L. Grove, age 88, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday evening, October 11, 2022 at the Medilodge of Capital Area in Lansing.
He was born June 30, 1934 in Burr Oak, son of the late Perry and Bessie (Halsey) Grove.
Willis was a lifelong Bronson area resident. On July 3, 1959 he married Bessie Tullos in Centreville.
Willis retired from the Harter Corporation following many years of dedicated employment. He loved operating heavy equipment.
He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army. Willis enjoyed gardening, time in the outdoors, dining at area restaurants and was happiest when he was earth moving.
He is survived by one son: Henry (Valerie) Grove of Bronson; one daughter: Patricia Roberts of Las Vegas, Nevada; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother: Carl Grove; three sisters: Eleanor Shaw, Gladys Beaty and Carolyn Cossairt and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three daughters: Barbara, Rosemary and Diana and sister: Roberta May.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Burial of the remains will take place at the Pretty Prairie Cemetery in rural Howe at a later date where full military honors will be conferred.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
