Janice Frohriep, 80

Janice Louise Frohriep, age 80, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, November 9, 2022 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She was born December 6, 1941 at Sturgis Hospital in Sturgis, daughter of the late Robert and Grace (McHuron) Besser.

Janice was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1960. She furthered her education at the International Business College in Fort Wayne.

Janice was working as a bookkeeper at a local bank when on November 9, 1962 she married the love of her life, Harold Frohriep in the Kimball Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis.

She was mainly a homemaker but did volunteer her time as recess supervisor at Wall School for several years.

In 1965 Janice became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Sturgis where she taught Bible school.

Janice volunteered her time as a Cub Scout leader and loved reading, crossword and jig saw puzzles and needle work.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years: Harold; one son: Scott (Beverly) Frohriep; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Kurt Frohriep; one sister: Carolyn Palmer; and one brother: Ronald Besser.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no services or memorial donations.
