A Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen chicken restaurant is likely coming to Sturgis next year.
The Sturgis City Planning Commission recently approved a site plan review for property that might house the restaurant.
The development, if approved by the city commission, is slated to be built in the 500 block of South Centerville Road. The existing building formerly housed Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Michigan Real Estate and a title company.
The applicant, Aby Groups, indicated the building would be demolished and a new, 3,050-square-foot restaurant with a double drive-through would be built.
Construction will also include a new parking area and stormwater management system, as well as a new entrance off Ohio Avenue.
