Sturgis Area Community Foundation executive director leaving position

Sturgis Area Community Foundation Executive Director Lindsay Richardson has accepted a new opportunity in Elkhart and will be leaving the foundation Dec. 31.

Richardson joined the Sturgis Area Community Foundation as a trustee in 2017 and was hired as executive director in January 2019. During her tenure, the foundation expanded its grant-making programs, won grant awards from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund and was renewed as a nationally certified community foundation.

Erin Melchi-Baker, chair of the foundation’s board of trustees, will serve as interim executive director following Richardson’s departure. The foundation’s board of trustees will start the search for a permanent executive director immediately.

The Sturgis Area Community Foundation is a $30M foundation focusing on meeting charitable needs of the community.
