Wayne Kay Swartz, age 80, of Marcellus, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
He was born in Schoolcraft on April 16, 1942 the son of Homer K. and Maxine (Kahler) Swartz.
On March 5, 1960, in Newburg, Michigan he married Sharon Joyce Tase who preceded him in death on December 1, 2019.
Wayne loved working on his farm with the goats and horses, doing horse pulls, bobsledding, and hay rides. He also loved having family gatherings.
Wayne is survived by daughters; Deborah (Matt) Engle of Orland, Indiana, Shannon Pastorick of Marcellus; son Douglas Swartz of Marcellus, grandchildren; Brandon (Jen) Pastorick, Bo Pastorick, Seth Pastorick, Stephanie (Nate) Fletter, Erin Weaver, Kurt Haneberg, Brandi Anderson, Courtney Wetzel; eleven great-grandchildren, brother Keith Swartz, sisters; Bernadine (Dale) Bowlby of Marcellus, Beatrice Rowe of Three Rivers, Bonnie Summers of Three Rivers, and Beth (Gus) Harrell of Marcellus.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Swartz; brothers Roger Swartz and Carroll Swartz, sisters; Barbara Stephyn and Beverly Clark, brother-in-laws; Merideth Clark, Corky Rowe, Bill Summers, Dale Bowlby, sister-in-laws Ann Swartz and Sharla Swartz.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 11:00a.m to 1:00p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, 52780 M-40 North, Marcellus. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Friday, December 2, 2022 with Pastor Josh Wiggins of Edwards Corner Bible Church officiating . Burial will follow at a later date.
