Corliss “Corkie” Wallen, age 72, of Colon, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, peacefully at her home.
Corliss was born on May 25, 1950, in Sturgis, a daughter to the late Gerald and Juanita (Tiejema) Uric.
On March 12, 1977, Corliss married her husband of 44 years, Jackie R. Wallen, in Sturgis at the Sturgis United Methodist Church. Jack would precede her in death on June 17, 2021.
Surviving Corliss are her children: Amy (Robert) Ballestros of Canton, GA, Heather (Eric) Wilke of Warsaw, IN, Jason Wallen of Sturgis, Jackie (David) Eells of Burr Oak, and Amanda (Michael) Knauss of Colon, 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and her dog Barney.
Besides her parents Gerald and Juanita Uric, and her husband Jackie Wallen, Corliss was preceded in death by her two brothers: Gary and Douglas Uric.
The Wallen family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 1 to 2 PM at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. Following the visitation, a funeral service will begin at 2:00. Cremation will take place following the funeral service.
