Delores Elaine “Dee Dee” Brown, age 66, of Walkerville, Michigan and a longtime former resident of Sturgis and Burr Oak, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at her home.
She was born March 6, 1956 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Ansel Lavern and Mildred Virginia “Ginger” (Koett) Hagen.
Dee Dee resided in Walkerville since 2015 coming from Sturgis. Her early life was spent in Burr Oak.
She married the love of her life Curtis Brown in Centreville. He preceded her in death in June of 2015.
Dee Dee was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak.
Dee Dee was truly happiest when she was surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her daughter: Heather Wiltse of Walkerville; sons: Patrick Wiltse of Burr Oak and Steven (Amber) Wiltse of Kalamazoo; grandchildren: Dustin Himes, Shannia Shaffer, Dillon Chapman, Brandon Wiltse, Ryllie Wiltse, Alonzo Wiltse, Ansel Wiltse, Steven Wiltse and Simeon Wiltse; great grandchildren: Dustin, III and Gunner; sister: Lynda Hagen of Sturgis; brothers: Michael Hagen of Sturgis and Gary (Phyllis) Hagen of Bronson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson: Marco Chapman and brother: Roger Hagen.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A memorial service and celebration of life will take place at a later date to be announced.
A memorial service will take place at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Dec. 17th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis.
