Kay Mayer, 79

Kay Elaine Mayer, age 79, passed away Saturday evening, December 24, 2022 at her home.

She was born August 29, 1943 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Victor Henry and Ruth Martha Jenny (Betcke) Andrews.

Kay was a longtime Sturgis resident. She had also lived in California, Illinois, Texas, and Indiana.

While working at Americraft in Sturgis she met the love of her life, Larry Duane Mayer. The couple married June 6, 1963 in Colon. He preceded her in death May 17, 2008.

Kay loved her nearly 20 years of employment as an account manager with the Swibco Company in Lisle, Illinois.

Kay was a very detail oriented, meticulous person. She enjoyed shopping, crocheting, and listening to 50s and country western music.

She is survived by her daughter: Robyn Mayer; grandchildren: Eryn Rene Douglas and Zachary David Miller; great grandchild: Viveca Rose Douglas; sister: Karen (Jeff) Owenl sister-in-law: Sharon Mayer; grandkittys: Momma Clo and Rayne and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Kerry Duane Andrews.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends to share memories and honor the life of Kay Mayer will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 13th at the Radiant Life Church, 907 N. Nottawa St. in Sturgis.
