Marilyn Sue Essex, age 78, of Volinia, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 in Three Rivers.
Marilyn was born in Centreville on February 16, 1944, the daughter of Bernard and Eulah (Stanard) Kahler.
On March 7, 1964, at Volinia Baptist Church, she married Wayne Essex who preceded her in death on May 21, 2020.
Marilyn was a telephone operator, working for 23 years at GTE, and later for 11 years at ProMedica Family Practice in Kalamazoo.
Marilyn graduated from Marcellus High School in 1962. She was an avid cook and enjoyed a good book.
Marilyn is survived by her 3 daughters; Kendra Essex of Marcellus, Stacey Essex of Granger, and Kimberly Essex (Gordon Brunner) of Three Rivers; 7 grandchildren; Kymera Brunner, Hunter Brunner, Brayton Young, Taylor Miller, Neil Miller, Carter Mikel and Camden Mikel, sister; Patricia (Ronald) Swartz, brother Larry (Robin) Kahler of Marcellus, sister-in-law; Joann Kahler of Marcellus, and beloved caregiver; Megan (Cody) Mikel of Marcellus.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Eulah Kahler, husband Wayne, 2 brothers; Ronnie “Gus” Kahler and Richard Kahler.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, 52780 M-40 North, Marcellus. A celebration of Life will be held at 3:00.
