Susan Grace Martin, age 77, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Edgewood Health & Rehabilitation.
She was born June 14, 1945 in London, England, the daughter of Robert and Grace (Chilcott) Phillips. She lived there until 1981, at which time she moved to Alberta, Canada with her first husband John Alex Gordon McLeod. She returned to England 7 years later where she met and married Delmar Martin, Jr in March of 1991; the couple moved back to the United States and shared 23 years of marriage prior to his passing in September 2014.
Susan was a published author of two books and retired Chief of Staff for the State House of Representatives 59th District. She served the taxpayers of southwest Michigan for nearly 14 years working with Republican State Reps. Rick Shaffer, Matt Lori, and Aaron Miller.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Anne McLeod and her brother, Alan Phillips and his family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her first and second husbands.
Susan cherished the years that she lived in Canada and the friendships that she made there, always hoping to return more long-term later in life. As such, her cremains will be interred at Glenwood Cemetery in Edson, Alberta, Canada; No services are planned.
