Bob Kyle, 84

Robert Charles Kyle, age 84, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at his home.

He was born December 7, 1938 in Battle Creek, son of the late Chester and Lillian (Miller) Kyle.

Bob resided in Sturgis and Burr Oak most of his life.

On February 2, 1957 he married Lillian L. Krontz in Angola. She preceded him in death October 15, 1999.

He retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following over 20 years of dedicated employment as a Millwright. Prior to joining the Kirsch Company he worked at NW Welding in Sturgis for several years.

Bob was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp as a helicopter mechanic earning the rank of Sergeant.

He enjoyed annual trips to the Upper Peninsula, fishing and music, being a drummer. Bob had a passion for stock car racing and cherished times surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his son: Michael (Angie Tregunna) Kyle of Sturgis; seven grandchildren: Casey (Ben) Sybesma of Sherwood, Kyle (Hannah) Fackelman of Detroit, Zach (Kaylara White) Fackelman of Sturgis, Bobbi (Neil) Maunu of Vancouver, Washington, Ryan (Laura) Kyle of Colon, Jeremy (Heather) Kyle of Sturgis and Kaitlin (David) Kyle of Sturgis; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter: Penny L. Fackelman; sons: Robert C. Kyle and Jerry Lee Kyle; sister: Phyllis Brown and brothers: Roger Kyle and Jim Kyle.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00, Thursday, at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Robert Kyle will be held at 1:00 Friday at the funeral home. Pastor Don Smith of Firm Foundation Ministries in Centreville will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak where full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW and the U.S. Marine Corp Honor Guard.
