Erv Heidbrink, 71

Ervin Joseph Heidbrink, Jr., age 71, of Lake Templene, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at his home.

Erv was born in St. Louis, MO on July 8, 1951, son of Ervin and Rosemary (Schuler) Heidbrink, Sr.  After graduating from McBride High School in 1969, Erv attended General Motors Institute/Kettering Institute, and later obtained a Business Degree from University of Missouri at St. Louis. He was in Flint from 1969 to 1975 before moving to St. Louis where he married Connie Jo Hall on August 2, 1975. Erv worked for General Motors/American Axle and Manufacturing his entire working career. In 1980, he came to the Three Rivers plant where he worked until his retirement on August 1, 2008. Erv was President of the UAW Local 2093 and then chairperson of the Local 2093 retiree group until his death. He was a passionate supporter of the union, fair wages, and working conditions for all. Erv was a member of Centreville United Methodist Church where he and Connie worked with the food pantry. He loved history, and especially enjoyed visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Erv was also a sports fan, faithfully watching the Michigan Wolverines, St. Louis Cardinals, and St. Louis Blues.

Surviving are his wife, Connie Heidbrink, Sturgis, children Alisha (Jonathan) Wenc, Oak Park, IL, Michael Heidbrink, Belgrade, MT and his daughter Olivia, Chelsea (Gabriel) Godina, Ogallala, NE, and their children Kendra, Trevor, Jordin, Mason, Avery, and Jonah, brother Mark (Tami) Heidbrink, St. Louis, MO, sister Mary Jo Miltenberger, St. Louis, MO, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 21st from 4 to 7 PM at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, February 22nd at 11:00 AM at Centreville United Methodist Church with Reverend Joyce Vanderlip and Pastor Gabriel Godina officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate, or to the Colonial Williamsburg Fund at colonialwilliamsburg.org.
