Police release details on drunk driving arrest

State police troopers are releasing more information about a Three Rivers man arrested last week for alleged alcohol-related offenses.

It was tenth time he has been arrested for alleged drunken driving, authorities said.

Trooper Kaitlyn Bielecki said a vehicle driven by Jeremy Tomlinson, 41, ran out of gas at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in Branch County’s Coldwater Township.

Bielecki said Tomlinson was unsteady on his feet, struggling to talk and had difficulty answering questions.

Troopers also noticed an overwhelming smell of alcohol, investigators said. A breath test resulted in a blood-alcohol reading of 0.21 percent.

State records show his driver’s license was revoked. Tomlinson was paroled in November 2021 after his ninth conviction of operating under the influence. All but one of his convictions over the past 22 years were in St. Joseph County.

Preliminary court hearings are set for Feb. 23 and March 2 on what now is a 15-year felony as a habitual offender.
