Work to begin on Middlebury toll plaza

The Middlebury Toll Plaza will be closed starting Monday in an effort to further continue improvements at the site.

Work at the plaza, located at exit 107, is scheduled to take place through April and conclude on or before May 23.

Toll Road officials said the work continues rebuilding efforts after the plaza was damaged due to a car fire in January 2022. The impending work will involve structural, electrical, pavement, and new plaza and technology equipment.

The Middlebury exit/entrance provides quick access to U.S. 131 in St. Joseph County.

  1. Really curious why the Toll Road Commission wouldn’t simply opt for cameras to record license plates and then mail a bill to the individual. This seems to work quite well in other states and, in fact, increases fees. Easier for them, easier for the driving public.

    Just my thoughts.
