Colon athlete named to All-State team

The Associated Press released its All-State team for the girls in Division 4 on Monday evening and a local athlete made the list.

Colon’s Reese Williams was tabbed as First Team All-State. Williams was one of 10 student-athletes to be named to the First Team.

Williams led Colon in a number of statistical categories this season, including points per game, where Williams averaged better than 21 per contest for the Lady Magi. Added to that, Williams pulled in six rebounds per game while swiping almost five steals per game and handing out better than three assists on average.

Williams helped lead Colon to the regional finals this season and a SCAA Conference crown. She also surpassed the 1,000-point plateau as a junior for Colon.

The Lady Magi finished the season with a record of 21-5.
