A Cass County man was hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle Monday morning in Porter Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 6:35 a.m. to U.S. 12 and Robbins Lake Road.
Investigators said 34-year-old Union resident Blaine McClure was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a pickup driven by Harold Gray, 66, of Battle Creek.
McClure was transported to Elkhart General Hospital; Gray was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash but authorities said it appears McClure may have allegedly been under the influence of a drug.
