U.S. Sen. Gary Peters recently received a special acknowledgment from the Center for Effective Lawmaking.
According to a media release, the agency named Peters “the most-effective U.S. senator.” It marks the second consecutive year Peters has been bestowed such an honor.
The non-partisan center bases its rankings on how effective lawmakers are at advancing and enacting legislation, as well as how substantial those efforts are.
Bipartisan bills Peters said he authored and passed into law address toxic PFAS contamination, federal disaster response, saving taxpayers’ money and making the U.S. government more efficient.
Peters said he also led the enactment of legislation that strengthens the U.S. Postal Service and national cybersecurity defenses, among other efforts.
Congratulations Senator Peters. At least we have someone representing us who cares about us more than his party, drag queens, or banning books.
