Mary Lou Ware, 93

Mary Lou Ware, age 93, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born August 15, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Elizabeth (Rose) Brinkman.

Mary Lou resided in Sturgis since 1962 coming from Dayton. On September 1, 1951 she married Donald Ray Ware at the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2012.

She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

Mary Lou was an active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis.

She enjoyed playing Bridge, crocheting, needlepoint, and ceramics and was a former member of the Sturgis Newcomers Club and the Friendly Dance Circle, and truly loved time spent with her family.

She is survived by her children: Janet Cox of Bronson, Kathy Perry and Mary (Todd) Crites both of Sturgis, Tom (Traci) Ware and John (Nancy) Ware both of White Pigeon and Mike (Marcia) Ware of Sturgis; son-in-law: Daryl Thrams of Sturgis; 22 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter: Linda Thrams; son-in-law: Johnny Cox; sisters: Evelyn Bauman and Collette Kulhanek and brothers: Joseph Brinkman, Ray Brinkman and Harold Brinkman.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 6:00 on Sunday, April 16th at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis where the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be prayed at 5:30  Sunday. The Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Mary Lou Ware will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 17th at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Father Andrew Raczkowski celebrant. A graveside committal will follow the Mass at the Matteson Township Cemetery in Bronson.
