Splash pad construction has begun

Construction on the Thurston Woods Park splash pad started last week.

Infrastructure installation is beginning on the project, which has been in development for about three years.

Visitors may access the property by using the parking area north of the Doyle Community Center off North Franks Avenue and follow the walking path to the park.

The splash pad is designed to have a variety of water attractions geared for families and children, and will be shaped like Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. Additional amenities, including bathrooms and additional parking, are also planned.
