Traffic stop leads to two arrests

Two Sturgis men were arrested after they were found to be in possession of drugs and a weapon last week in Sturgis Township.

Undersheriff Jason Bingaman said deputies stopped a vehicle Friday on Balk Road, near U.S. 12. During their investigation, deputies found two male occupants were in possession of a firearm and methamphetamine.

It was further found that the firearm was stolen out of New Mexico.

The men, ages 44 and 47 years, were charged with several felony gun and drug-related charges.
