February’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County decreased by nine-tenths of a percent from January.
Figures from the monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget show St. Joseph County’s unemployment rate fell from 5.9 percent in January to 5 percent in February.
In addition, Cass County also experienced a drop in its unemployment figures from January to February. Its January rate was 5.7 percent and lowered to 5.4 percent a month later.
Meanwhile, Branch County’s one-month unemployment rate remained steady in February from the previous month. It was 4.9 percent.
Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February was 4.8 percent, down from 4.6 percent in January.
