Mike Ford

George Michael “Mike” Ford passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at his home after a brief illness.

Mike was a native of White Pigeon. He graduated from White Pigeon High School with the Class of 1973. He played basketball and ran cross country, was a member of the marching band, enjoyed living in his cottage on Fish Lake, enjoyed cars, and owned two Corvettes.

Mike was employed at Abbot Labs in Sturgis for 31 years and retired in 2013.

After retirement he was busy gardening and helping neighbors and anyone in need working on a project. He could build or repair just about anything.

Mike enjoyed his annual fishing trip with his buddies even if they didn’t catch any fish. He quietly supported area charities and local events.

Mike is survived by his loyal golden retriever Molly, Sister Lynda Ford Appuhn and her Husband John and 17 Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents G.W. and Nora Ford.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at The Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon where Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2023 with pastor Karen Wheat officiating. Interment will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
