Roger Tilden, 86

Roger Lyle Tilden, age 86, of Sturgis, a kind man who was always looking for a hug, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, May 17, 2023 at his home, one day before his 87th birthday.

He was born May 18, 1936 in Union City, son of the late Lyle and Viola (Collins) Tilden.

Roger lived in the Union City, Sherwood, and Sturgis area all of his life.

Roger retired from the Harter Corporation in Sturgis following over 30 years of dedicated employment. For many years he enjoyed working part-time for Emery Heating and Cooling in Sturgis, and following his retirement, he transported many in the Amish community, and did work for Oak Products.

Roger loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and he had a true appreciation for classic cars. He and Lois traveled to many shows throughout the area showing one of his classic automobiles.

Those who knew him will forever remember his loveable, funny, jokester spirit, but also a man who could stand his ground and was not afraid to share his opinion.
