Beverly P. Schrader, age 85, of Centreville, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Birch Meadows in Three Rivers. She was born April 5, 1938 in Sturgis a daughter of Daryle and Ruby (Harris) Pheils. Beverly attended Scott High School and graduated from Shipshewana High School in 1956. On August 16, 1958 she married Merl Hensley at the Lima Presbyterian Church, Howe, Indiana. Together they had three children Scott, Michelle, and Sandra. On October 9, 1976 Bev married Keith L. Schrader at the Centreville United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death November 18, 2020.
Beverly worked for several places including Hensley Real Estate, Edna Shimp’s Wallpaper & Painting, Lowry’s, Sportsmans, US Post office for 22 years, and Ranglers, all in Centreville. She enjoyed all her animals throughout the years, traveling, photography, gardening, all of nature and sports, especially attending her grandchildren’s events. Bev also loved the round table coffee groups meeting at the local establishments. Bev was always willing to lend a listening ear or help anyone who needed it. Her sense of humor and smile will be missed by all that knew her. Special thank you to Karen at Centrica Care Hospice, Birch Meadows and staff for the loving care they provided in her final 3+ years.
Surviving are her children Scott Hensley, Bronson, Michelle (Jeff) Todd, Three Rivers, Sandra (Tom) Capps, South Haven; grandchildren Danielle (Devon) Charmichael, Carly (Tyler) Carpenter, Sam Todd, Kyle (McKayla) Todd, Thomas Capps, and Ryan Capps; great grand daughter Ellie Charmichael, step children Julie (Jim) Evans, Sturgis, Jeffrey K. Schrader, White Pigeon, George (Brenda) Schrader, South Haven, and Michele “Miki” Bender, Elkhart; several step grandchildren, brother Frank (Gail McClish) Pheils, sister in law and lifelong friend Judy Hensley, nephews Steve (Wendy) Pheils and Jeff Hensley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Keith Schrader, ex-husband Merl Hensley, sister Janet Pheils, beloved grandson Nick Hensley, nephew Jon Hensley, stepchildren Jean Schrader and Jeffery Schrader.
Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville. Religious services will be held Wednesday at 11 am with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Prairie River Cemetery, Centreville.
