Caged dog left in courthouse parking lot

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department is looking for information from an incident involving a dog that was left in a crate near the courthouse last week.

Authorities said a vehicle pulled into the west parking lot of the courthouse at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday and remained stationary for about six minutes.

After other vehicles left, a subject got out of the vehicle and opened its trunk. A small dog cage with a black lab-type dog was removed from the vehicle before the vehicle left the property, heading east on Main Street.
