Ed Hagen, 78

Edward John Hagen, age 78, of Sturgis, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 31, 2023 at his home.

He was born April 16, 1945 in Alma, Michigan son of the late John W. and Inez (Schaffer) Hagen.

Ed resided in Sturgis since 1970, coming from Alma.

On October 12, 1994 he married Jennie Miller in Centreville.

Ed had been employed by several area trailer manufacturing companies and he also did roofing work.

He was a member of Neuman-Wenzel Post #73 American Legion and Eagles Lodge #1314. He enjoyed playing cards, board games, games on his tablet, and working in his yard and gardening. He truly loved fishing.

He is survived by his wife: Jennie; children: Rhonda, Brenda, Amy, Sam, Peggy and Brandy, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Roxanne, Lois, Delores, Beatrice, Marylou, Susie and Barbara; half-brother: Tommy and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Larry, Donald and Doug.

In accordance with family wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the remains will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at a later date to be announced.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091 is entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations would be appreciated to the funeral home to help with expenses.
