Paul Hornacek, 68

Paul J. Hornacek, age 68, of Three Rivers, died Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo following a long illness. He was born in Muskegon on August 28, 1954 the son of the late Michael F. and Anna H. (Nisky) Hornacek. Paul graduated from Muskegon Catholic High School, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in business from Western Michigan University, and later became a Certified Public Accountant. Paul started out in sales at Roy’s Motors in Three Rivers, and Crown Motors in Holland, and later at Kool Chevrolet in Sturgis. For the past fifteen years was a CPA at Dana F. Coles & Company in Niles.

Paul was a member of both St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon and St. Clare Catholic Church in Centreville. He greatly enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Corey Lake Yacht Club. He also enjoyed skiing in the winter, and volunteered in many community projects with the Three River Lions Club.

Paul was married to Barbara (Haas) Cupp on June 26, 1999 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon. She survives, along with Paul’s son, P.J. Hornacek and his wife, Jenny of Middlebury; grandchildren, Kallista, Shyla, and Gabby Hornacek; step-sons, Norman (Gillian) Cupp of Three Rivers and Ted (Tabby) Cupp of Mendon; step-grandchildren, Makenna, Brynn, Nora, and Oakley Cupp; two brothers, Mike (Claudia) Hornacek of Lake Zurich and John Hornacek of Fruitport; a niece and two nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Monday, June 26, 2023 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon where the Rosary will be recited at 7 pm. The funeral mass for Paul Hornacek will be 11 am Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon with Msgr. Thomas Martin officiating. Interment will follow in St. Edward Catholic Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial contributions be directed to St. Edward Catholic Church.
