Ralph Slater, 86

Ralph D. Slater, age 86, of Tekonsha, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at his home.

Ralph was born on May 14, 1937, in Ludington, a son to the late Elza and Margie (Kerr) Slater.

Ralph served in the United States Air Force as a mechanic. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for the State of Michigan Road Commission for many years. After the road commission, Ralph owned and operated Ralph’s Auto Repair in Sturgis. He also worked as a handyman when he wasn’t fixing or selling cars. Ralph loved to wheel and deal and was always on the hunt for the next deal. He also loved selling used cars.

Surviving Ralph is his life partner Linda Young, sister Norma Jean Slater, and special friends: Dan Howe, John Brewbaker, and Dave (Marlene) Kinnison.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Elza and Margie Slater, brtohers: Archie and Gerald Slater, sister Arlene Slater and his son Ralph D. Slater Jr.

Following in Ralph’s wish’s cremation has taken place. A Ralph Slater Memorial Auction will be held by Kinnison Auction and Sales. Contact Dave for details and donations at (269)-894-0574.
