William N. Foss, age 90, of Ft. Wayne, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Parkview Hospital Randallia.
William was born on May 17, 1933 in Sturgis, a son to the late Wilfred and Nellie (Kime) Foss.
Following high school, William served in the United States Army and was deployed to Korea. William then worked for GM for 26 years and retired in 1987. William lived for more than 40 years in Westland, Michigan, and moved to Ft. Wayne in 2000. William enjoyed golfing and spending lots of time with his family.
On May 17, 1952, William married his wife of 64 years Ina Fay McKinney in Royal Oak, Michigan. She preceded William in death on July 19, 2016.
William is survived by his 5 children: Debra K. Dean of Ft. Wayne, Donald K. Foss of Ft. Wayne, Tom Foss of Harlan, IN, Duane E. (Doris) Foss of Ft. Wayne, and Lynn M. (Mark) Sylvester of Harlan, IN, 14 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Wilfred and Nellie Foss, and his wife Ina Fay Foss, William was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Sparks.
The Foss family will receive friends and relatives from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 11:00 with pastor Andrew Lyons of Decatur Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Matteson Township Cemetery. A luncheon will take place following interment at the Colon American Legion Post #454, 122 E State St, Colon. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial donation be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
