Betty Gruver, 61

Betty Jean Gruver, age 61, of Sturgis, died Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo following a long illness.  She was born in Three Rivers on November 16, 1961 the daughter of Herbert James Taylor and Leone Fletcher (Adams) Taylor. She attended both Mendon and Vicksburg public schools. She was raised in the Jehovah Witness faith and attended Kingdom Hall in both Vicksburg and Sturgis.  Betty greatly enjoyed music and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Betty was married to Kenneth W. Gruver on August 15, 1983 in Nottawa.  He survives along with six children, Mara Jean (Don) Drexler of Detroit, Travis William (Amber) Gruver of Elkhart, Jessica Lynn Camp of Williford, Arkansas, Heiddi Sue (Norman) Bandutsya of Warren, Kenneth W. (Amy) Gruver, II of Fulton, and Stewart (Mary) Gruver of Stevensville; her mother, and step-father, Leone (Bill) Herson of Elkhart; three sisters, Susan Holm of Little Rock Arkansas, Marilyn (Ron) Stafford of Three Rivers, and Joan Taylor of Arizona; two brothers, Gerald (Chris) Taylor of North Carolina, and Donald Taylor of Texas; nineteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and may nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father; and grandson, Austin Lee Gruver.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be at 1:00 Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon with Elder Bill Herson from Kingdom Hall of North-West Elkhart officiating.
