Bonnie Lou Smith, age 65, of Three Rivers, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 9, 1958 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Albert C. and Shirley J. (Roberts) Marunde, and graduated from Vicksburg High School with the Class of 1976.
Bonnie worked for 26 years at Weyerhaeuser and later as a dog groomer.
At Weyerhaeuser, she met the love of her life, Wayne Smith. After dating eight years, the couple was married on May 20, 1989 on their farm. They enjoyed traveling out west in the winter and going fishing in Canada.
Bonnie loved fishing, placed second in the state in archery, and was an excellent cook known for her rolls and pies. She loved her dogs dearly.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne; son, Lucas Roberts; daughter, Rebecca (Larry) Wissell; grandchildren, Annason and Natalie Wissell; mother, Shirley Burnham; brothers, Pat Marunde and Michael Marunde; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Albert Marunde; and her stepdad, Cleon Burnham.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. Visitation will also be held Friday, July 14, 2023 at the funeral home from 1:00 until time of memorial service at 2:00. Bob Fenwick will officiate.
Donations in Bonnie’s memory may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
