Brenda J. Burnau, age 74, of Three Rivers, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born March 28, 1941 in Battle Creek, a daughter to John and Virgie Bernheisel.
Brenda married her husband, Jerry Burnau, in Battle Creek on October 18, 1976. Brenda spent her early years in Battle Creek working in a restaurant as well as driving a taxi in the 60s before she married Jerry. They lived in the St. Joseph county area for the last 30+ years. Brenda loved BINGO. She could be seen at the American Legions in Constantine and Colon, the Three Rivers Moose Lodge, and the Sturgis Knights of Pythias playing BINGO. Brenda loved to crochet and sew. Over the years she had made many blankets as well as her own blouses. She was known for her kindness, driving friends and family to various appointments if they needed a ride. Brenda also adored her dog, Princess.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jerry Burnau; one sister: Beverly Long; one brother: Matthew Bernheisel; Brother-in-law: Tommy Burnau of Three Rivers; Sister-in-law: Edna Burnau of Three Rivers; Several nieces and nephews; Special nieces: Shirley Goodrich of Three Rivers and Sarah Burnau of Three Rivers; Many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, MI 49093, has been entrusted with his arrangements.
