The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down late Wednesday night in the Colon area. The EF-1 tornado was on the ground for 5 minutes starting at 11:09pm. The length of the path was 3 miles, and the maximum width was 50 yards. The peak wind speed was estimated at 90 miles per hour. A storage facility located on the southeast side of Colon was damaged, with debris found in adjacent fields to to 200 yards away. No injuries were reported.
