Jayne Marie Shearer, age 65, of Grand Rapids, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023 at University of Michigan Health-West.
She was born March 2, 1958 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Duane A. and Wilma L. (Teugh) Barnes, and graduated from Vicksburg High School with the Class of 1976.
A clothier by trade, Jayne truly enjoyed her work at David’s Bridal, Hudson’s/Marshalls, Christopher & Banks, and Style & Encore.
On September 22, 2007, she married Tom Carew.
Jayne loved flowers, gardening, and especially her family.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her husband, Tom; sons, Joshua (Nichole) Shearer and Justin Shearer; daughter, Ashley Berry; grandchildren, Landon, Hayden, and Addison; mother and stepfather, Wilma and Bill Reynolds; brother, Duane Barnes; sister, Karen Marsh.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Shearer, to whom she was married from 1976-1987; and her father, Duane A. Barnes.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at 1:00 at Vicksburg Cemetery, with Pastor Dave Downs officiating.
