Jeanne Ellen (Crabill) Blasius, age 93, of Sturgis, passed away Friday morning, July 28, 2023 at the Sturgis Hospital Emergency Room.
She was born December 31, 1929 in Bronson, Michigan daughter of the late Northa F. and Rubia R. (Morrow) Crabill.
Jeanne resided in the Sturgis and Bronson area her whole life and was a graduate of Bronson High School with the class of 1946.
On September 6, 1947 she married Russell John Blasius in Bronson. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2009.
Jeanne retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following 43 years of dedicated employment.
She was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis where she served on the Alter Guild and also an active member of the Neuman-Wenzel Post #73 American Legion Auxiliary and the Voiture #545 40/8 Auxiliary. She enjoyed antique shopping, was an avid reader, and loved time spent with the morning coffee group.
Jeanne is survived by her three sons: Dan (Mary Helen) Blasius, Martin (Mary) Blasius and James Blasius; four grandchildren: Leo Blasius of Virginia, Mary Ellen (Kirk) Blasius–Rossi of California, Teresa (Jeff) Rabey of Lansing and Sarah Blasius of California; three great grandchildren: Daniel Rossi and Adam Rossi both of California and Joey Rabey of Michigan; her siblings: June Wilbur of Bronson, Joan Larimer of Traverse City and Northa Crabill of Bronson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sisters, one step-brother and one step-sister.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 on Wednesday, August 2nd at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jeanne Blasius will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 3rd at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis. The Revs. Larry Matro and Calvin Kolzow will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
