Petition filed to recall 3 White Pigeon officials

An attempt to recall three more White Pigeon Township officials has been made with last week’s petition filings.

County Clerk Lindsay Oswald said the recall is aimed at White Pigeon Township Clerk Lacie Pletcher, and trustees Jean Tefft and Vincent Schroen.

The three are being targeted for alleged issues related to the township’s 2023-24 fiscal-year budget. Specifically, they voted in favor of the budget without allegedly making it available for public inspection.

A clarity hearing to determine whether the language in the recall petitions is clear and concise will take place at 9 a.m. July 26 in Courtroom B.

Meanwhile, a clarity hearing for the recall petitions filed against Supervisor Don Gloy and treasurer Trudy Gloy is at 9 a.m. Thursday in the third-floor Commission Room, also at the county courthouse.
