Sturgis man injured in Indiana crash

A Sturgis man was injured last weekend after failing to stop at a stop sign in LaGrange County.

Authorities said Jamie Espinal-Albor, 33, was driving north on LaGrange County Road 100 East on Saturday when he failed to stop at the intersection of State Road 120. Espinal-Albor’s vehicle pulled into the path of an eastbound sheriff’s department SUV. Its lights and siren were activated, as it was responding to an emergency call.

Authorities said Espinal-Albor’s vehicle came to rest on its roof, while the SUV ended up in a ditch.

Espinal-Albor was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne and was in serious condition.

Deputy Zachary Anderson, 34, of Middlebury and his K-9 partner were not injured.
