Sturgis Township appoints new trustee

A new trustee was appointed Monday to the Sturgis Township Board.

Rodney Stahl was appointed to the open trustee spot vacated when Von Metzger was selected as the township’s new supervisor. Metzger replaced George Morse, who retired last month.

Stahl will sit in as a trustee at the August meeting. He is also the appointed township board representative on the planning commission. In turn, Jason Cline was appointed to the vacant space on the planning commission now that Stahl has advanced to the township board.

Stahl will serve out the seat’s remaining term as an appointee through November 2024. The seat will be up for filling by election at the primary in August.
