Timothy Lee Hughes, age 45, of Gastonia, North Carolina, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 in Gastonia.
He was born November 19, 1977 in Gastonia, son of the late Dennis Gwin and Frances Jeanette (Henderson) Hughes.
Tim lived most of his life in Gastonia.
On April 1, 2018 he married Crystal Crain in Gastonia.
Tim had been employed in landscaping, something he truly enjoyed.
He and Crystal’s special songs were Forever and Always and Need You. His friends and family knew Tim was the person to call on if you needed help with anything. He enjoyed listening to music; one of his favorite bands was AC/DC. He was always ready to talk about landscaping and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Tim planned to return to Sturgis and renew his marriage vows with Crystal.
Tim will never be forgotten and will be forever missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife: Crystal Hughes; his children: Selena, Isabella, Steven, Aiden and Anthony; sisters: Angela Hughes Best, Joyce Hughes Vanover and Maryann Hughes; brothers: Donald Edward Hughes and Leroy Gwin Hughes; mother-in-law: Dora Crain; sisters-in-law: Kimberly Crain and Barbara Crain and many nieces, nephews and friends including his Demetrius Banks.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM-7:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 2nd at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Timothy Lee Hughes will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00 P.M. Major Timothy Sell of the Sturgis Salvation Army will officiate. According to family wishes cremation will follow the services.
