David Leroy Johnson, age 69, of Three Rivers, died Friday, August 25, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Sound Bend. He was born in South Bend on May 19, 1954 the son of Raymond N. and Chloa E. (Goodsell) Johnson. He graduated from Mendon High School with the class of 1973. He served in the U.S Army and later with the National Guard for nine years. David worked at Crocker Limited in Three Rivers, and most recently at Kysor Metal Products in White Pigeon. He and his wife also provided foster care and home healthcare. He enjoyed assembling model cars, fishing, and attending yard sales.
David was married to Elizabeth Joy Cole on May 1, 1991 in Centreville. She survives along with children and adopted grandchildren, Carlina Quinn, Samantha Linnell, Jasmine Clupper, Lauren Clupper, Mackenna Clupper, Jacob Clupper, Kiara Kamptner, Chase (Bianca) McClure, Emilee Quinn, Kaleigh Stamper, Piper Stamper, Alyssa Cole, Christopher Cole, and Ronald Cole; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel Currier and Jax McClure; brother, William (Mary) Johnson; three sisters April (Jim) Huntington, Judy (Tim) Marciniak, Nancy (Victor) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eddie and Gary Johnson; and nephew, Ronald Cole.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A family memorial service is being planned for later. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
